About the event
★★★This room is on the second floor of the North York Central Library.
Participants will have the opportunity to explore the world of canvas painting using acrylics, guided by experienced instructors. But that's not all – we'll also introduce the captivating concept of collage, as participants paint a butterfly onto cardboard before integrating it into their canvas.
In the first workshop, our theme centers around the joyous arrival of spring. To capture the essence of this season, we'll be using a palette of cheerful colors synonymous with the blooming beauty of springtime. Additionally, the butterfly, with its symbolism of beauty and liberation, takes center stage in our artwork, serving as a poignant representation of the transformative power of the season. Join us as we unleash our creativity and celebrate the spirit of spring through the art of painting and collage-making!
The second workshop follows a similar format to the first, but with a focus on painting fish instead of butterflies. This painting workshop introduces children to canvas painting using acrylics. Additionally, they explore the concept of collage by painting a fish onto cardboard and affixing it to the canvas. As part of the Willowdale Nowruz Celebration program, the theme centers around spring, incorporating vibrant colors associated with the season. The fish, chosen as the subject, symbolizes life within this thematic context.
